If our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are LOST. (2 Cor. 4:3)
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
The wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23)

FIRST you must acknowledge that you are a sinner and repent of that fact before God.

There is none righteous, no not one... There is none that seeketh after God. (Romans 3:10-11)
All we like sheep have gone astray (Isa. 5:8)
...for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance (Matt 9:13)

SECOND you must believe that Jesus Christ died for YOU and trust Him to save you.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved... (Acts 16:31)
He that BELIEVETH on him is not condemned. (John 3:18)
He that BELIEVETH on the Son HATH everlasting life. (John 3:36)

The Bible teaches that repentance and faith are granted to the sinner by the convicting work of the Holy Spirit. When God wants to save a person, He draws them to Him.
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:44)

Salvation is a gift of God.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8,9)

Once you have repented of your sinfulness and trusted Christ as your personal Savior, you are saved! No bright light; no lightning from the sky; just the assurance that you have put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ to save you.

Now, what you need to do is publicly confess Him before others and present yourself for scriptural baptism in a New Testament Baptist Church as an act of obedience and identification with Christ.
